      Producer Interview

      Aug 25, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at On (London, England) in Aug 2019

      Interview

I initially applied for an internship for which the person I spoke to during the initial phone interview said I was overqualified for. I was invited to come in person anyway. The day before my interview, the company posted a full time position for basically the same role as the internship. I was stunned and so emailed the recruiter and asked if I could also be considered for this role given my experience and portfolio. She immediately shot the idea down because she thought I wasn't qualified, but said we can talk about it more. The morning of my interview, she tells me I will be assigned a different recruiter. The experience was uninspiring, robotic, by which the recruiter made me put on a pair of their shoes while I interviewed and then read off a list of questions and didn't make it conversational at all. Each time I answered, I was met with a dead gaze. I was told I would hear back by the following week. I waited. A week went by and I got silence. So, I reached out to politely ask where I stood. I get a reply saying that the recruiter was out of town and didn't have a chance to speak about me yet. So, I waited another week. By the end, I reached out once more and the recruiter made it strangely difficult by saying she had already called multiple times (I received no calls from CH, where their office is located). I offered to reach her but she said she'd try me again. I get a call and see its from Hungary. I was confused but picked up anyway. It was her. She proceeded to tell me that I was not chosen for either the internship OR job due to my "lack of hands-on experience". I couldn't believe it. I felt as though my resume and interview were completely overlooked and I was given a totally bogus excuse. It was an extremely misleading experience, with one person telling me I was "too good" for the internship, and the recruiter telling me I'm not good enough for anything. Each person's description of both roles contradicted each other and it all felt misleading.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re so sorry to hear that you were not happy with your experience. Here at On we always aim to deliver a great candidate experience, no matter the outcome of the process, and we are sad to hear that we missed the mark! Regarding your feedback, we do ask our candidates if they want to try a pair of On shoes while interviewing just so they get to experience our shoe technology (if they haven't had the chance yet!) but it's definitely not a mandate and we are sorry if it came across that way. In terms of our recruiting team, we will use the feedback to make our team better and ensure these misunderstandings don't happen again. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention, rest assured that we are working on improving our processes every day!

      Application

      I interviewed at On (Zürich)

      Interview

I had a total of 6 interviews, with various team members including HR, the hiring manager and peers. The whole process was pretty long winded, and the role involved relocation which meant that it was difficult to plan ahead when the entire process took over a month from my initial interview. I also had to do a take home task.
