Got a call from the recruiter at Planet (Berlin) for an interview. The initial process moved very quickly and the HR team was in frequent communication for the first several rounds of interview. The main in-depth interviews were technically not the most challenging I've ever faced - just general software development questions and a friendly discussion with the interviewers. After this point however, all communication ceased. This after having acquiesced to their preferred interview time slots which did not match what I had requested.
When candidates have spent time and effort on the interview process, but for whatever reason did not advance further, the least we expect is a clear yes/no response or an indication as to how long it will take to arrive at a decision. If silence is all that is on offer, this is very disrespectful. Reading through other experiences here, it is clear Planet needs improvements in this regard.
We appreciate you for sharing your feedback. Although we are disappointed to hear that your experience wasn't entirely a positive one. We aim to deliver a great experience to each and every candidate, and this seemed to be a miss. With your feedback, it helps us better improve our process going forward. If you have any additional thoughts you'd like to share with us, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd love to hear from you.
I applied online. I interviewed at Planet in Oct 2020
Interview
Applied online for a software engineer position. I wasn't given an interview, but a recruiter sent me a very personal and personalized email apologizing for not being able to get to my application and we had a small back-and-forth.
Even though I didn't even get an interview, it was nice to have a more personal email from a recruiter.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Planet in Aug 2019
Interview
Applied online and had the first phone screen a week later. I had a second phone screen the next week where I was asked all the same questions and was told that they had been looking for 4 months with many applicants "in the pipeline" for that time, including 4 who had done onsite interviews.
Was then sent a lengthy coding challenge that I put about 10 hours into over a weekend. They never acknowledged receipt, and when I follow-up with the recruiter I'm told that they still need time to make a decision. It's been over a month and I can only assume I'm "in the pipeline" like many others.
