The interview is almost given in two major steps. The first step is that you'll receive a call from the department head. He/She will ask you questions about yourself and your current job. Topics that will come-up are are you passonate about finance and what current skill sets that you have that line-up with the position, words that I feel are beneficial to use are: financial budgeting, financial planning, familiarity with excel, microsoft SQL, powerpoint. Phrases that I think will help are being a "Geek" with number and etc...
Then the second part which has two sections are as follows: If your choosen to be selected to sit down for an interview, you'll come in and be interviewed by a three man team. The department head of finance, VP of Finance and Food & Beverage Cost Controller. They will verbally interview you for about 1 to 1.5hrs. They are looking to see how you answer questions, what type of work did you do previously and does it line-up with the job requirements, do you have a passion for the job in general, do you have a religious or moral issue with working in the gaming industry and whats your level of familiarity with Excel, SQL. And general are you a good for them and their two man team as you'll be working with the department head and F&B Cost Controller. The section of this will be a 30 minutes time excel test. Topics to study would be the following: Relative vs Absolute reference, SQL, Pivot tables, simple account journalizing, VBA (which I nevered covered), If statements that return words like; favorable or unfavorable, knowing how to create excel formula, and the last set of 7-8 questions really have nothing to do with excel but how well you understand basic finance. The questions went something like this: There are 4 groups: A, B, C, and D. They total 43,902 customers. Each group represents the following number of percentages: A; 10%, B; 12%, C; 3% and D 75%. Now, what is the ratio of group C to group D?
I hope I've helped!!! God Speed!
