This was by far the most disrespectful and poorly managed interview process I have experienced.
I took a day off work to attend an in-person interview where I faced five interviewers at once. Several appeared distracted, the questions were poorly structured, and the overall experience felt disorganized. I was later told that I was the strongest candidate, yet my follow-up emails were ignored and the company completely disappeared.
Almost an entire year after the interview, I suddenly received an automated message saying I was “still under consideration” and that a decision would be shared soon. Keeping a candidate in limbo for a year after requiring their time, preparation, travel, and lost wages shows a complete lack of professionalism and basic respect.
Candidates should seriously consider whether they want to invest their time in an organization that communicates this poorly. A rejection would have been perfectly acceptable. Ghosting someone for a year and then pretending the process is still active is not.
