TimelyCare interview questions

I interviewed with TimelyCare over the course of 5 weeks, 5 rounds. The first round was an HR screening, second round was with the hiring manager, third round was a technical interview, fourth round was a panel interview with other team members and last 2 rounds were with company executives. After my final interview, I was asked to provide 3 references, however I hadn’t received an offer yet, which I thought was weird. My references met with different people from TimelyCare for 15 minutes each. Every reference said it felt like they were being interviewed themselves and weren’t prepared to give insightful answers. Also, my references mentioned that it felt like they were just going through the motions and likely already made a decision. After the reference interviews, I received feedback the following week via email saying they went with another candidate. My take on all of this is as follows: 1. I feel as though the interview process was too long and they could make a decision after 2 rounds and a technical. 2. Once they asked for references without an offer on the table and essentially interviewed my references, I felt like the whole process became unprofessional and the decision makers struggle to identify good candidates. 3. I asked everyone about the strategic goals of the company and nobody had a clear or consistent answer. Also, they are trying to grow in a very niche and competitive market. My advice is to do your research on the position you’re applying for, keeping in mind that this is a very small company that’s figuring it out as they go and don’t seem to have a concise vision. They provide mental health care services to college students which is great but don’t offer a continuity of services and all of their therapists are 1099 employees, with no commitment to the company. Make sure you really want to work for them before being dragged through an unnecessarily long interview process. While everyone was nice, I feel like they’re looking for the “perfect” candidate which causes them to waste a LOT of time for the ones that don’t make it. It really rubbed me the wrong way that they asked for and interviewed my references before making an official offer. Not only did they waste my time but they wasted the time of the people that were willing to vouch for me. Overall, my advice is to avoid interviewing with them unless you’re desperate for a remote job. This is nothing more than a stepping stone company. Their hiring process is too extensive and not well thought out. While the people are nice, the process feels like you’re just going through the motions at some points. Also, the company needs to have more flexibility in their interview process and not string candidates along to hit some internal quota or process requirement.

There were several interview steps for this role. Consisting of: Recruiter, panel, hiring manager, C-level. The interview process seemed very organized, yet comfortable as well. There was a good balance of answering questions and allowing me to ask questions as well.
