Interview
Pros: Recruiter was initially responsive and the interviewers were polite during the conversations. I honestly enjoyed talking to most of the team
Cons: Extremely disorganized hiring process. A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, and I completed all four standard rounds. After they requested and actually contacted my professional references, I was given an "intent for a verbal offer." Surprisingly, they then asked me to complete yet another round of interviews. Afterward, I was rejected with a generic "not enough experience" explanation. Releasing professional references is a high-trust step for candidates, and doing so only to reject someone for resume-level experience feels incredibly unprofessional. I asked for constructive feedback but was only given standard cop-out phrasing. The entire process took 2 months and I had to reach out to check on the status after 1-2 weeks of radio silence
Advice to Management: Respect candidates' time and their references' time. Don't initiate reference checks or signal intent to offer unless you are actually ready to hire

Interview
I applied online and had a 30-minute introductory interview with a recruiter, followed by 30-minute interviews with the hiring manager and another sales leader shortly after. Everything moved quickly and seemed well-organized at first.
For the fourth round, I was asked to prepare a presentation outlining my top channel partner target in the region. The presentation was scheduled for a little over a week later due to scheduling conflicts with the hiring manager and other sales leaders.
Less than 24 hours before the presentation, my recruiter called to inform me that the team had decided to move forward with an internal candidate and that my presentation was canceled. I found this extremely unprofessional, especially considering the amount of time and effort I had invested preparing for the presentation. It would have been more considerate to communicate this decision earlier.

Interview
The interview process with Verkada was highly structured, transparent, and efficient. It began with an initial screening with a recruiter, followed by a one-on-one interview with the hiring manager. Next, there was another one-on-one interview with a manager from a different region to provide additional perspective.
The process then advanced to a panel interview, where a presentation was required. After successfully passing this stage, Verkada conducted a thorough reference check. Finally, there was an in-person interview with the hiring manager to conclude the process.
