I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Via Transportation
Interview
I applied online then received a writing assignment. They reviewed it and scheduled a phone interview. The phone interview was highly unusual: I was asked for my creative ideas for numerous (4 or 5?) projects, and wasn't asked any questions about my experience, or even a "tell me about yourself." It felt like the interviewer just wanted help brainstorming their new campaign. I answered all the questions as generally as I could and the interviewer didn't like that. I knew I didn't get the job when it was over. I guess if you're dying to work at Via, you need to be willing to give up lots of great ideas before you even meet anyone, and risk letting them use your ideas without hiring you.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Via Transportation (New York, NY)
Interview
The interview process was thoughtful and challenging. I definitely felt that the interviewers understood my background and had taken the time to consider how I might fit into the company before we met. I went through an initial phone screen, a take-home assignment, and then 4-5 hours of onsite interviews (some of which were conversational, others of which were more case-style). This was ultimately followed by an interview with an executive, and the process ended with a wrap-up call from Talent before I received an offer. Again, everything was incredibly thorough, intentional, and empathetic, while remaining one of the more challenging interviews I've experienced.
