I asked how much of the job is Back-end, they stated 90% of the job is HelpDesk?? Why so many Networking questions?? Why does a HelpDesk employee need to understand the difference between RAID and BACKUP servers on a troubleshooting level? More than half of the interview was spent talking about Network Engineering, even though at the end of the interview they explained that this was handled by higher-level agents. It was a Video File that was playing slowly on the server, and was taking over an hour to copy. I suggested Copying/Pasting on the same server. Changing the File format to be copied. Checking properties for previous versions. Checking other files in the same directory. Make sure that your whole team isn't trying to copy this at once ("How are you going to find that out" was the repeated response from the interviewer) The interviewer was more focused on "how are you going to find out where this came from" even when "Asking the customer about the source" was not acceptable. That's pretty Irksome when talking to the customer is considered wrong on a Help Desk job. Asking someone what the "Attributes" page on Active Directory is a bit of a trick question since its a page that is barely ever used, and usually only used to set up new permissions or settings on groups/accounts, usually by Network Administrators.
