      Customer Service Representative (CSR) Interview

      May 8, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Workstream in Apr 2022

      Interview

It was good and smooth until this person asked me to navigate the software. He said he’s having trouble with my accent, however, when I checked their FAQs YouTube video, the voice over woman got a very Filipino accent so idk what he’s talking about. He said everything was good except my accent, nobody told me my accent is horrible or very Filipino. Anyway, he will let me know if I can proceed and work it out, it’s been one month no emails or calls. He can just send me an email saying that I did not pass.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Workstream

      Interview

Began with recruiter call, then proceeded to 2 separate Zoom interviews. Finally they give you an "assignment" that is pretty heavy - includes 3 parts, a mock QBR presentation for one of their customers, a scenario of a potential customer churn, and ending with a personal presentation about something you find interesting. I was fine with the first 2 zoom interviews, but the amount of information they expect you to include for the QBR and customer presentation was just not realistic. In the middle of my meeting, I was being questioned on why certain details were not on my slide : details that you would only know if you were actually working with the 'mock customer' (i.,e. not a new-hire candidate from outside the org.) It's unrealistic to have that expectation of candidates when you barely give them any context to work with. Remember - this is a MOCK template for a customer that you don't actually know. The worst part was the disposition of the people in the room and their lack of respect for the time and effort you put into the process. There were multiple instances of people doing stuff on their phones, typing on the computers during the presentation. It felt rude and disrespectful. Toward the end of the meeting, I had already decided they were not the sort of team I would want to work with. I have to agree with some of the other reviews here - the people at Workstream have a lot to learn about running a proper and fair interview process, as well as treating candidates with respect. Don't ask somebody to come onsite and present if the team can't be respectful and give the candidate your full attention during a presentation.
