I met someone from talent acquisition and they were very enthusiastic about me and my profile. The next interview with the hiring manager seemed to go really well. The conversation was good and we seemed to get along well. I felt I showed self-awareness by pointing out where my experience might be slightly different, why and what I would be interested to learn to fill in the gap. I was well-prepared having used the product, learnt all I could about the company and team, also read the code, for familiar with the CI process. I did not have time to share this during the interview - despite this being a number 1 interview tip they provide. Surprisingly, the interview process stopped here. My gut feeling is that the interview transcript is passed through AI, rather than relying on human instinct. The feedback given sounded like it was given to someone else's interview and very likely the output of AI. I personally think this was a loss to both the company and myself. I have been a keen follower of the company and I believe my product, technical and people management experience would have been of benefit to a young, growing company.

The process consisted of a total of 6 interviews with hiring manager, team and founder. Next to solving a coding challenge in pairing, the process included interviews around cultural and team fit, as well as management style. Given the number of steps, the interview process was fast paced with feedback being delivered quickly and reliably. A strong focus of the interviews was introducing me to everyone I would work with, and ensuring that my leadership style is aligned with the culture at n8n. Everyone was very open, positive and motivated, which made me feel comfortable during the interviews, and was one of the deciding factors for me.
