MedQuist makes doctors' chicken-scratch legible and garbled voice notes useful. One of the largest providers of medical transcription services, MedQuist serves more than 1,500 hospitals, physician groups, and other health care organizations, primarily in the US. With some 5,000 transcriptionists available, MedQuist offers clients completely outsourced solutions or one-off help for in-house personnel. It also provides dictation systems and speech-recognition software. It does most transcription work using its proprietary, Web-based system, the DocQment Enterprise Platform. MedQuist Holdings (formerly CBaySystems Holdings) owns a controlling stake (about 70%) in MedQuist.
