Pros

They have good benefits and company parties. You can work from home

Cons

Very difficult to know what exactly they want from you. Its almost impossible to bonus. You'll work hard for a few years to move up in pay just to have them raise the starting pay to your wages.

Pros

Good Lunches, and On-Site Gym

Cons

Not a great place to work, I do not approve of how they treat employees. I was on the call floor and they haggle you over time not taking calls, long breaks, and even seeing how long you are in the bathroom. I went on my honeymoon and spent all of my PTO and came home from a nasty bug and they wouldn’t let me go home even though I was vomiting while on the phone. I went to talk to the HR representative and she said I needed a “Doctors Note” and that I would only get 2 days off, so I got in trouble. The pay that you can get up to 16-17 hours is a lie, you have to meet ALL your quotas and can never have a break while in peak times, they even come and tell you to get on the phone if you need a break from a bad call. They pressure you to sell products and if you don’t you get a talking to by your supervisor.

Pros

1-800 Contacts is conveniently located off the freeway in Draper making it easy to commute to for Utah County, and Salt Lake County employees. They stress a fun cultured environment, and a passion for customer service. Two benefits they have that no one else has, is the gorgeous onsite gym facilities and the vision center.

Cons

1-800 Contacts will lure you in with their great culture, their deep love of customer service, and pay you at market. You can expect a 2-5% raise with any promotion, which over time will put you well under market. 1-800 Contacts has a great culture. They were one of the first companies to implement a culture, but a good culture is now standard for other competing companies.
