Pros

I've never worked for a company that actually backs what they say. Although far from perfect, it's been a breath of fresh air working for this company. 1-800 Contacts truly cares about customers and associates. They empower leaders to lead without constant oversight and bureaucracy. You can actually take care of people here. They value high performance and accountability which is also a breath of fresh air. I feel like I constantly know where I stand. I'm never surprised. I can't adequately express my gratitude for what this company is trying so hard to do. The intentionality is so nice to see.

Cons

Any opportunistic feedback is heard and implemented, if feasible.

Pros

I’ve been with the company for more than 10 years, which began as an easy customer service job to help pay the bills while my kids were young and I was finishing college. I graduated over five years ago and am still here because this is genuinely an incredible place to work and I can’t imagine leaving. This company truly cares about their people and their customers above all else. Its core values aren’t just words, they’re lived every day. I’m in a unique role where I get to see how empowered our agents are to support customers in meaningful ways, and the real impact that empowerment has. It makes me incredibly proud to be part of a company that cares so deeply- this isn’t common in other call center environments. You’re also not just another employee, the culture isn’t hierarchical, and our senior and executive leaders consistently communicate openly about how the company is doing, how individual contributions drive our growth, and what that growth means for each of us.

Cons

This company is amazing at growing their people- they are willing to develop more people than they can consume. It’s incredible that they care enough about you that they will help you grow and learn skills, even if it means leaving the company for a different opportunity. This can be a con though when so many of us love the company and don’t want to leave- it leads to bottlenecking, possible sense of stagnation and too many people developed with no where to go.
