Pros

Met some awesome people at work and was able to work from home.

Cons

You’re just a number and that’s it. Management could care less about you or what you’re going through. You’re piled with a crazy amount of work and are expected to just be robotic and be a top performer- even though the stat structure makes no sense and you have no idea if they even have your numbers right each week. Every one-on-one with most managers is an hour biweekly about why you’re not doing great every single week and make you embarrassed about it. They expect perfection ALL THE TIME and you are glued to your desk all day. They watch your personal time like a hawk, even if you need to use bathroom or even drink water/eat food. Such an anxiety ridden place to work. Pay is terrible year after year and they hold a bonus over your head that is ridiculous to meet and easy to lose. They over promise and under deliver.

Pros

Easy as far as warehouse work goes, coworkers were mostly cool, lenient on attendance, PTO was decent, CEO seems like a good guy, free treats are a plus, the grill is probably the best part of the entire company

Cons

The forced positivity can get old, favoritism and nepotism but no more so than your average company, no room for advancement (CEO referred to it as a "lateral company", where you learn but don't advance), too lenient on attendance at times, lack of accountability, either micromanaged or given no direction at all, warehouse is actively mocked by corporate employees, department cliques (to be expected), lack of a real training process for any position in any department

We appreciate the candid feedback and will make sure it’s shared with the right people. We strongly believe in our core values – Tenacious, Big-hearted, Unconventional, and Better together – and that they are central to our individual and collective success. COVID certainly presented challenges, and we’ve seen an increase in mental health requests. Our associates’ well-being continues to come first. Attendance has been inconsistent as a result, and we aren't always able to share details due to privacy. We have done our best to balance all needs and continue to improve while recognizing we aren't perfect. We are always open to specific suggestions. If you didn't address this in your exit interview, please feel free to reach out to us (people@1800contacts.com). We are excited about our future and growth at all our campuses, including Salt Lake. We currently have over 25 advancement positions posted and plan to add several specific to the supply chain in 2023. We encourage any of our associates who are interested in career development and internal development opportunities to work with their manager and business partner to explore resources and tools available to them. Thank you again for your review. We really appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback with us and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Best reason to work here is you get some free stuff here and there. You get breakfast foods and other drinks and sodas free. So that part is nice. Depends on the department but you can have good and meaningful friend and coworker relationships.

Cons

The upper management seems to lack a lot of communication now. It didn’t seem like they didn’t have any a little bit back but then again I probably wasn’t paying attention. It seems secluded and sometimes isolated. If you work in the warehouse you don’t feel as valued as someone in the Draper office. They like to think that we have good stuff and granted we have things that most companies might not like the grill but, we have to have it transferred here to salt lake making the food sit in a warmer or the fridge for periods of time making it not good. There is a huge lack of motivation from a lot of people here. Even seeming from a management standpoint. Not a lot of people here feel good about coming to work. It’s hard labor at times and okay pay off. There doesn’t feel like a lot of team or company activities and I get that due to covid but even before that I didn’t really see much. To me it just sucks sometimes working in a place well firstly far away and long commute (a lot of people have to go very far to get here). And secondly it’s a place that’s a hard working job to go home and forget about. I’d like to think I’m making enough money with bonuses but in reality we aren’t. Partly due to inflation, but all in all companies change the wages around more and it gets competitive. I have hope for this place cause I like what I do it’s just recognition kinda sucks. It seems like some random people get recognized but a lot of people are underdogs. I’ve certainly felt that way about myself. The biggest problem to me is honestly a lack of headphones. I have anxiety and depression and listening to things like music or even calming or comedy podcasts actually help me focus. But not having them is a huge issue. We have loud machines all day with the most repetitive song playlists you can barely hear. It’s difficult to come in and listen to the same things every day. If one thing I would like to see change is at least having 1 headphone in.
