Pros

Been here more than 5 years after a number of IT related positions over a long career. This is by far the most interesting, exciting and rewarding position in my career. The spirit of "community" cannot be overstated.

Cons

Vertical mobility/growth opportunities could be better. Compensation (bonus) policy is sometimes inconsistent.

We will continue to look internally first when growing teams as well as focusing on individual team member development. Please do reach out to a member of the HR team if you would like to discuss your personal career development.

Pros

Great people and corporate culture, tons of subject matter experts in Microsoft technologies, adequate pay, amazing benefits (though admittedly less than what our UK counterparts get). If you do your job well and make a name for yourself, sky's the limit.

Cons

Sometimes management in the UK forgets that we don't get as many government benefits in the US, and that people over here expect hard work to be rewarded with pay raises, promotions, and sizable (not cursory) bonuses. Marketing department has been non-existent.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We believe we have the best employees in the business, and we’re thrilled that you agree. We think Community is a vitally important part of what makes a successful company, and we strive to make sure our staff have access to great benefits. We also want each member of the company to believe that talent and hard work will result in progression, and that there are no barriers to personal success at 1E. You make a fair point about the comparison between government sponsored benefits in the UK and the US, and this is something that our Executive team will look at. We also recognise that a weakness within the company has been raising awareness of the innovative development at 1E. Whilst our products have always been at the very top end of the scale, we haven’t always done a good job of communicating that. To that end we are in the process of boosting our marketing team. We are currently interviewing for a Chief Marketing Officer, with some excellent candidates to choose from. We have also brought in a social media/digital specialist, and promoted from within some excellent individuals to address other areas. We are always learning, especially as the company grows and we have made the transition from a small company to a global one. We strive to make 1E not just the market-leader in Efficient IT products and solutions, but also one of the best places to work in any industry, and are confident that the team we have in place now will make that happen. As you’ll know, this year the Sunday Times ranked us in their 100 Best Small Companies to Work For. Our aim is to make the top 10. We would be delighted to continue to get your feedback, and our management team would love to hear from you in the future.
