Pros

Hard to find any positives… I would only consider APFM if you’re desperate and need to be employed in order to survive.

Cons

Hitting quota is impossible. For example - in November 2023 1 out of 33 regional managers hit 100%. The average RM was around 50% . The average SLA was around 40%. Managers do not earn commission unless 80% of the team hits 100%. SLAs do not earn commission until they achieve at least 50%. Extremely high turnover because of this. Hitting 50% sounds easy until you see how many people actually can do that. Old school/closed minded company - they warn you of this before you start but there’s absolutely no wiggle room; you must work holidays/nights/weekends/end of month. For being called a place for mom, they sure don’t care out their employees or their employees families. It is business first - always! Micromanagement at all levels - I was an RM & I was micromanaged to micromanage my SLA team. That type of fear leadership doesn't help anyone. I couldn’t even set clear expectations with my team because the expectations changed nearly everyday. The extreme whiplash created a toxic environment for all.

Pros

Thought working from home and avoiding the commute would create more balance. Perceived balance. I hit over quota monthly and paychecks continued to be less and less.

Cons

You work more than 40 hours a week to hit quota, you are never off the clock, you are expected to provide daily goals creating more work, you work with 200-500 families per month reducing the quality of service. You work nights and Weekends which is a requirement. PTO Is a figment of your imagination it’s never granted. If you don’t finish the year expect to pay back any sign on bonus you receive

Pros

During the 1990's the company was focused on helping families find what best fit the family's needs. It was inspiring work.

Cons

Since 1998, under new ownership and new management, the company is focusing on corporate sales and quotas rather than what is best for the customers.
