Pros

There are wonderful people around the company in all departments. The service is truly great for families in need There is the potential for potential

Cons

Culture of micro-management and fear is taking hold. The leadership is intelligent and great to work with - but the silo'd structure and lack of clear roles and responsibilities between cross functional teams makes it incredibly difficult to succeed and grow - particularly as a leader within the company. Few people actually understand the business from end to end. Benefits are some of the worst anywhere. Company's current direction is focused more on day to day bean counting than investing in sustainable growth practices. Politics outperforms performance

Where Careers Go To Stall

Pros

This is a fantastic environment if you want to relax and go at your own pace. As long as you can have a thick skin about the office politics and favoritism, this is great place to chill out. There are so many moving parts at the moment and so little data to make educated decisions, that it's anybody's guess who is contributing what. So if you want to kick back and take a career break, this is your spot. (To be clear, I'm talking corporate roles here. It seems like the sales teams are getting whipped pretty hard - different story there.)

Cons

If you have career growth aspirations, this is going to be an unfulfilling place to work. All executives are hired from the outside. There is zero promote from within ethos, so there is no upward mobility. Along with that the raises are appallingly low, so being stuck in your job means your compensation is essentially frozen too. Top talent consistently leaves for better opportunities once they see behind the curtain. (Don't believe me? Ask your interviewer to introduce you to the beautiful people featured on the company's Glassdoor page. They can't....those people are long gone to greener pastures.) There's no accountability for hitting goals or honoring commitments, so naturally that doesn't happen much here. This can be frustrating, if you're the type who is interested in making progress. One Sr. Director hasn't come close to hitting their monthly budgetgoal yet this year, but there are no ramifications. Blame always gets deflected to someone else and that's accepted here.

Pros

I worked here almost 2 years before I couldn't take it anymore.

Cons

Not an honest company. Just wanted to write this as it is company policy to have employees write false reviews to boost company image.

We strongly disagree with your statements. A statement that “Most of these reviews are fraud” is defamatory and libelous, and a false and misleading allegation that we have committed a criminal violation. While we understand that Glassdoor will not determine the accuracy of particular posts and we similarly do not want to censor viewpoints expressed on this website, we believe this post violates Glassdoor’s Terms of Use and is Prohibited Content. A Place for Mom prides itself on having open and transparent relationships with all employees and a diverse and vibrant culture. We do not and would never solicit false reviews from staff or others.
