I paid $200/mo for health insurance, there were a few times during my tenure where I wasn't sure I could afford a co-pay or afford to take the time off when I was sick, I was fortunate that I never had any major surgeries. This may not be a big deal for the employees who make more money, but for junior employees it really takes a toll. It wasn't that management wasn't supportive and I could always work overtime, but this was a major factor in my decision to leave.
While we had a very diverse office with various cultures and strong leadership. The culture was very homogenous. The culture committee plans cultural holidays without consulting people of that culture. It wasn't as offensive as it was uncomfortable and when those concerns were voiced I was then singled out by a white employee who asked me to explain why anyone would complain about a cultural celebration suggesting it's just an excuse to drink and eat food (I don't speak for all people of my culture, and I don't understand how my culture is merely an excuse to drink and eat food). By the end of my term I didn't enjoy going to work, I loved the people, but I hated the culture.
