Pros

I truly love working for this company. The culture of promoting work/life balance is really great. I like that when I am off work, I have permission to be "off work" and no one is making demands of me to be available. I really love the people I work with and I have a lot of autonomy. The CEO, Sean, is super funny and he seems very down-to-earth. He is approachable. This truly is the best company i've ever worked for.

Cons

I only have 1 con. It seems that when people are successful on the community relations side, there has been an underlying suspicion of "cheating" or doing something wrong. I've never worked for anyone that makes you, at times, prove you deserve credit for something. "guilty until proven innocent" is the best way I can describe it. I have a fear of doing well because I don't want a target on my back so I lay low and just get by with achieving my numbers. Especially since being given credit for my work can seem subjective.

Pros

I look forward to going to work every day. Awesome coworkers - great team of people with great attitudes. High level of importance on the things that truly create a happy work environment - autonomy, mastery, and purpose. We're creating great things that help families in often difficult situations, while building a financially successful company, and getting paid well to do it. Laid back office atmosphere; casual dress, flexible work hours, work from home. Open office with standing desks, snacks & drinks, and (we used to have) an office dog (RIP Tag :(). All the benefits & fun of a small startup, combined with the resources & stability of a much larger company (we are owned and funded by a large, parent company). This is truly an environment of growth & learning. We grow the business by growing our own potential. Very high expectations for everyone. You have the opportunity, and responsibility to have a substantial impact on the business - as we are small and growing fast.

Cons

Normal growing pains of scaling a startup from a few employees to many - both in culture & operations. As the company grows, development/engineering seems to get relegated away from the business and into it's own black box, hidden behind hierarchy and process. "Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians" - planning & strategizing can trump doing, testing, collaborating, gathering feedback, validating, and producing results. We've been through 3 project management/ticketing systems, and many more ancillary tools & dashboard products in the last 6 months, all of which are still in use in some form, yet no one really uses any of them. Criticism is not always warmly received. Slow moving, old school parent company vacillates between being incredibly supportive of our endeavors and being a monumental pain in our collective rear. But, there is never a question of whether or not they will pay our paychecks, and at the end of the day the parent company is a solid organization and a great business with lots of integrity.

Thank you for the 5 star review and great feedback. The company is young and continues to practice kaizen, the art of continuous improvement. Feedback like this is critical to making team decisions such as moving to better PM software to encourage participation and helping to improve testing, collaborating, and getting better results. Onward and upward!

Pros

It is refreshing to work with a team where every member takes pride and ownership in their work and commitments. Start-up feel without egos. A lot of work is put into hiring employees that fit the company culture and it shows. Everyone is respectful and works well together. The work that is being done here helps so many and will continue to help even more as new, exciting products are rolled out. The technology stack is not outdated and there are many opportunities to grow your knowledge. Sharing opinions and ideas is encouraged and well received.

Cons

I sat and thought about cons, but I really don't have any yet. If you have concerns, you are encouraged to discuss with your manager during one-on-ones. They will do their best to help you work through any issues. Very receptive management.
