Pros

Flexi-hours & Clean toilets (Sorry but I had to scrape the barrel)

Cons

I first think of the age-old saying of "you can't polish a ...." but I have to say you have done an excellent job of proving this saying wrong. Lovely looking building, very professional feel and great benefits are what you are shown at the very beginning. Then you are sat at a desk in an open office, and away you go! That is onboarding in a nutshell then you realise the office is lifeless, the people that do want to talk to you are afraid of being seen to be talking. You get warned a couple of times about the manager, but you know what that's normal there are going to be unhappy staff in most places. Then you realise why you have been employed because the manager that employed not only has no idea what it is you do but also they have let it get so bad that the only advice you should give them is "We need to start again!" this is when you realise that this was not an option because the manager had wasted so much money on it, we don't want to make them look bad to do we? So then we have a meeting with the company that made the mess, and they report back that I am talking rubbish they had done a fantastic job. I exit the business. I can still see they have not managed to sort the mess out after 13 months of me leaving. I, however, have moved on and increased the revenue at my new multi-million-pound workplace by 30% and still spent less than you have wasted.

Pros

I’ve posted a previous review of this company however please look closely at the what seems to be happening with reviews recently. Terrible reviews for years and then 6 five star reviews within one week. It’s obvious the management at the company have asked people to post these. Please rely on the last 2 years reviews as this is the real truth of this company.

Cons

As per previous poor reviews

Thank you for taking time to re-visit your previous review and update this. You are correct in that we are actively encouraging current and past employees to post reviews. We take employee experience very seriously and to enhance and improve our workplace, we will always want feedback from as wide a range of people as possible. This should be honest and based on individual experience – good or bad. We employ excellent and very capable people at A-SAFE who can think for themselves and would never feel they should be anything but honest in expressing their opinions. Encouraging staff to give feedback and post reviews is good practice for all businesses, and is something Glassdoor recommends all companies do. Having a broader range of reviews on Glassdoor presents a balanced picture of what it is really like to work at A-SAFE.

Pros

None. Like, literally none. Zero.

Cons

I wasted 2 years of my life working for this company. Right from the start I knew I may as well throw my job description out the window. The owners micro manage every part of the workforce and show zero trust in any employee, no matter what their skills or experience. Communication from management is abysmal - with the most laughable 'open door' policy I've come across in 30 years. If you do make it through their so-called 'open door' you might as well talk to the walls - and have no doubt you'll leave ANY conversation with the directors much more confused (and often with a heavier workload) than you were in the first place. Morale on all sides of the company is spectacularly low. The workforce are under paid, overworked and under-valued - this despite lots of lip service about looking after their staff and being a good place to work. The owners simply regard most staff as dogsbodies who are lucky to be in their roles. Bonuses are pathetic. Meetings are stressful and unproductive. Departments seem to work in isolation for each other. In fact, the only thing the company do well (apart from selling lots of safety barriers, despite themselves) is win dumb awards from organisations who should have much more rigorous vetting procedures - and then displaying the awards in a trophy cabinet so their utterly downbeaten and disenfranchised workforce can look at them and feel like killing themselves.

Thank you for your feedback and I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your two years at A-SAFE. We pride ourselves on having a pioneering culture which encourages people to think outside the box. We promote on merit and successful people at A-SAFE often enjoy a rapid rise based on what they deliver and their potential. As you can see from the success we are having as a business due to our fantastic people, there are far more people who succeed than those who don’t. We have a great track record of developing people and fast-tracking talent to grow with the business. There are many people at A-SAFE who have started at entry level and gone on to achieve senior management roles based on their hard work and achievements. This is a real advantage of being part of a fast-growing business. Opportunities arise all the time and you don’t have to move companies to progress. We are an agile organisation and will typically only have to manage people more closely where there are concerns about focus, application and results. We review our pay annually and keep a close check on market values constantly. In the past 12 months 85% of our workforce received pay increases higher than cost of living increases. Sorry that we weren’t for you and we hope you are enjoying your new role.
