Backward Culture and Discriminatory Executives

Good salaries, incentive pay and benefits.

Cons

The company culture operates as if it is the 1960s, barely able to market itself in a digital environment and too dependent on direct mail. New executives believe that getting rid of older employees and promoting young inexperienced people is the way to "modernize" the culture, but it's actually the organizational chart itself that keeps the company looking backward instead of forward. Don't look for this to be a place where you gain a lot of useful experience. There is no opportunity to operate or lead on the cutting edge. Management prefers sycophants that don't question the status quo.

Pros

Lots of employees at the National Office have been there for 20 or more years. Sense of family. A lot of employee activities.

Cons

The con about employees that have been there more than 20 years....there is a reluctance to think outside the box. Change is frowned upon. Unfortunately, you won't save the ship doing things the way you've always done them.
