Pros

Great mission. Telework, employer-paid healthcare, an opportunity to meet amazing people and make connections. Travel.

Cons

No room for professional growth. You may run into abusive leadership with a lack of management skills and erratic behavior. No policy is in place to keep managers accountable. Passive conflict resolution. Too many virtual meetings. Excessive performance review.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize you had some negative experiences while at AAMC. Our IT team has undergone a restructuring and new hiring to prepare for a long-term modernization project which involves moving our applications to the cloud. This is a large shift for the teams involved but we feel it has prepared us to move forward with this new challenge successfully. Also, in the past few months we have hired new leadership in IT Communications and in IT Modernization who will lead the building of process and practices around change management, business operations and project management. A concerted effort is being made to create a more inclusive and supportive environment. The organization continues to provide training and development for all staff.

Meh.

Pros

Great benefits especially health insurance.

Cons

Too policy and procedure centric while allowing constituents who are set in their ways (fiercely fight change) to call the shots. Bad—sometimes costly—ideas supported to avoid hurt feelings. Micromanagement runs rampant. If you want a place that values and supports those who “think outside the box,” this isn’t it.
