Pros

Nice new building. It is so wonderful and has great views.

Cons

the salary could be alot better. I know they think that the benefits are good but they could help more with school payments.

Pros

- They have excellent benefits. They provide an excellent retirement package. - They have options to telework. - They have an excellent work/life balance.

Cons

- Low salary. - The managers micromanage. - Everything seems like a huge deal all the time from the font used on emails to the wording. - Managers (at least in my unit) want to do what they can to catch someone doing something wrong. The mangers can be demeaning and petty and they make you feel like you are always doing something wrong. - Managers could care less about career advancement. - You receive no praise. For example, you are asked to produce a data report. You work on it, send it to the manager with a draft email, and then he/she will send it to whomever requested the data without mentioning you had any part of it and w/o evening acknowledging that you send it to them. No "Thanks" or "Good job". But if the font is not right or the spacing is off by a millimeter then you will most definitely get a response back.

Great Benefits, but don't expect to grow there.

Pros

Awesome benefits - health care, emergency child care options (off site), wellness activities are free (weight watchers, quit smoking, yoga, meditation, etc). This organization has a ton of money and you would do well here if you want stability, retirement, et cetera.

Cons

I personally witnessed a number of non-qualified people get promoted or hired because of who they knew at the association, and there were great candidates that had been (and are probably STILL doing) the work that should have been promoted. There is a college Fraternity/sorority "cool kids" mentality in a lot of the departments. Teleworking is an option for SOME, depending on how much your boss likes you.
