      Pros

      When you work at SCSEP, you can help many people go back to the labor market and be productive again, improving their self esteem, and making them happy. SCSEP have provided employment to veterans 55 years and older, homeless men and women and even disabled seniors. Helping others succeed is a personal success for those who care for others.

      Cons

      Limited budgets. underutilize well skilled people because they have limited time to be in the program and its a part time "job"

      Excellent organization that assists older workers to find employment opportunities by training at host agencies.

      Pros

      Provide agencies that allow you to train in order to become employable. Provide computer basic training and a Job Club to help you become proficient in interviewing and job search skills. They help older qualifying senior citizens (age 55 and older), with opportunities to learn new skills by assigning you to a host agency that needs help.

      Cons

      Most training positions are for only 6 months at a time. However you can sometimes remain in the host agency a lot longer with approval. Most of the time, you are transfered to another host agency after 6 months. Also, the training courses are limited that are offered by AARP/SCSEP in their office.
