Pros

There are lots of opportunities to work with modern and emerging technologies. It's a fast-paced, agile environment without much BS procedure. Fellow developers are great. It's a relaxed & casual workplace with quite a few opportunities for fun, such as in-office games (Mario Smash Bros on the big screen, KanJam frisbee), social events, participation in local hackathons & events, etc. The company is well funded and doing well financially. They are growing very quickly. Purchases of equipment or software are pretty easily made if you have a reason (it will make you more productive, etc.). Developers get nice computers, big monitors, motorized sit/stand desks, etc. ACV is a tech oriented company. They know their "secret sauce" is their technology, and even more so their ability to iterate and release quickly. Everyone throughout the company embraces technology as a way to win in the marketplace. The CEO's key message is "trust" which seems to permeate down through the company as well as how they treat the customers.

Cons

Engineering leadership sometimes plays favorites and has a thing for hiring based on pedigree rather than actual skill for some roles. There's some real snowballing going on, with folks who do nothing put into or kept in prominent positions. Product management can be a bit "whatever we heard last" sort of reactionary environment. Priorities change frequently. One PM will push through a change only to have another realize after deployment that oops, we didn't want that to be released. For a semi-mature team with lots of processes in place, a surprising number of bugs slip out. Some products have regular bugs, and developers/PMs on those teams face no consequences. Other products have one bug and heads roll.

Pros

Free snacks, coffee, freedom to wear what you're comfortable in

Cons

Cliche-ish company, with poor leadership and management. Don't be fooled by the shiny 'objects'.

Pros

The pros are endless at ACV. - A modern work environment: stand up desks, no cubicles, top of the line tech equipment. ACV also allows employees to dress casually - Opportunity for growth: ACV is growing very quickly and there is a lot of opportunity for promotion (for the people that work for it) - Flexibility: ACV does not have rigid work schedules like many companies - Executive team: ACV has an incredible Executive team of business professionals from all over the US. They are personable and they genuinely care about their employees. - Work life balance: Family and health come before work.

Cons

One thing some employees may see as a con is how much the company expects from it's employees. ACV is growing rapidly, which requires a lot of hard work. This is not the right environment for everyone - but if you can commit to working hard and occasionally working more than 40 hours (when necessary) - you'll love ACV.
