Pros

Every week is different, rapidly changing environment, working with car dealers ams brokers can be fun. Sale Day!

Cons

Compensation plan is a blanket statement of nearly attainable budget goals. Smaller markets get zero accommodation vs. larger markets that are not as sensitive to small changes (weather, holidays, etc.) on auction day. This kills your numbers, chance for bonus, and makes you look unproductive. Comp plan changes annually and gets more and more unattainable based on market changes, participating dealers, competition intruduced in market, and supporting staff loosing your deals (hourly comp folks). Good people always leave.

No work life balance, long hours, unrealistic expectations from management, low pay, perverted work environment

Pros

Fridays the auction closes at 1, so you get to leave early. Coworkers are great for the most part.

Cons

Managers won't get rid of dead weight employees that don't work efficiently. Upper management plays favorites and is a bit misongynistic. Very hard to get a raise.
