Pros

Able to gain professional experience. Gain managerial experience by managing installers and also coordinators. The daily grind helps to prioritize your day.

Cons

The constant tugging from different directions such as reports needed at a moments notice, technicians needing guidance on certain situations, and walking sales through difficult installs and help them sell to the best of their ability.

Pros

The boss is very nice and respectful of employees, but is too busy to train the new employees except for very little. He is always there for us when we call though. If you are new, you have to ask questions and learn the HUGE wealth of knowledge that you have to learn about all the security systems ON YOUR OWN completely! That is the worst part. Then on top of that you do not make enough to even pay your bills because of all the gas spent going to the appointments all over "tim-buck-too" to someones house that might be a creep all by yourself. Also, the little money we were making on sales just got cut virtually in half. :( The last and final thing is that when you go to an appointment you could drive as far as 2 1/2 hours away and then the customer does not want a security system, so then you wasted you time, all of your gas, and you got ZERO dollars out of the whole thing. All of this is ONLY COMMISSION! There is hardly no way for anyone to live on commission alone.....even if they are making the 50 calls a day to try and get an appointment set to sell a security system. There are great people that I work with including my boss who is nice and understanding and help the best he can....but they give him too much work for him to be able to help very much. But unfortunately just working with nice people won't pay my bills. :(

Cons

I stated everything in the above paragraph, thanks!

Pros

I work for Corporate ADT in the Resi-Resale Dept. The bigger the city the more profit in your pocket. I have been with the company for going on 2 years now and being an hourly employee in the past then going 100% commission is a scary thing. The training pay is very pleasing and gets smaller the towards the end of training. What does remain on every weekly paycheck is the $86 car allowance; then you get reimbursed $70 monthly via check after faxing in receipts. You get paid 50% upon contractual signatures & 50% on install, unless you test the system yourself onsite, to which you receive a $50 on top of the full 100%; granted the paperwork is filled out properly and the job is not put "on-hold" for any reason. ADT Corporate doesn't go without its frustrations as do every job, I have been fortunate and am working with decent territories under a manger whom does NOT micro-manage. I can't express how delightful it is to come and go as you please regardless of how late or early. Just as long as your making numbers, logging calls and doing your job, it's a great place to work!

Cons

Now for the Cons - Chargebacks!!! - if a customer cancels service for and reason inside 6 months, half of the money you originally made is taken from you on your next check. Then there is the ancient DOS based platforms to navigate through, and yes there are multiple platforms that do not interface with each other. Our lovely billing dept has a tendency to loose monies into the abyss. Changing your password every month or so is a minor annoyance. Being stood up by customers when you have driven over an hour to meet them, in your own vehicle, on your own gas. Selling the $99 special you see on TV will net you cool $75 for your time,VS reactivating what they already have then making close to $200. Some authorized dealers, not all, can be very annoying, as they have a high turnover and tend to employ anything with a heartbeat.
