Pros

Having a job is better than no job at all. A good place for young engineers to learn about the business, and move on to more progressive smaller firms for a real career. Really good core values – but only on paper. The company is anything but agile, prioritizes not the client but bottom line profit, valuing not the employee but the value they can squeeze out. The firm seems to be run by few too many “corporate cardinals” awfully concerned with saving a dollar off admin assistants and lavishly overplayed top executives.

Cons

All the emphasis on immediate revenue, no long term vision. Lost some of the brightest professionals in the industry. Procrastination should be AECOM’s alias.

Pros

After you leave or get laid off from, AECOM, any job will feel like the best job in the world. You will have a new unbelievable outlook on how great life is not working for this company. Flexible schedule

Cons

No training, no mentoring, constant layoffs, employees are constantly in fear of losing jobs, bureaucracy ,incompetent clueless management, ISO quality certification process is a joke, saw so many garbage submittal's sent out with hardly any QC and poor coordination. If you are a woman or minority, then you will have a very hard time here, struggle, and eventually quit in frustration due to lack of equal treatment. In my office, I saw too often, bright young eager women or minority employees come to work here, and slowly had their hopes and dreams crushed. Faced with prejudice, subtle bias, lack of communication and support from superiors and coworkers, lack of recognition. It was a truly awful place from the first day to the last. If you are a white male and do the bare minimum, you will have more opportunities, be favored, supported, be treated much less harshly, not have to deal with bias and get promoted faster.

You are a number, not a person Lots of middle managers fighting to keep their jobs and laying off good people to do it Lack of integrity on part of management The company is so big you wonder if anyone really knows what is going on there.
