Pros

You do learn about the deal process and the ins and outs of banking,

Cons

They use you to do these market research presentations that they publish, other than that you do not do much stuff with deals, are very unorganized, it is on your analyst to give you work and there is a lot of stuff on the deals that they do not trust you to do, training was informal and most sessions got canceled near the end

A Great Place to Grow

Pros

At AGC, I’ve had the opportunity to wear multiple hats, beginning as an intern and then progressing to a BDA team member and becoming an analyst a year later. The Firm fosters rapid growth and development by allowing junior team members to take on significant responsibilities from the outset. As a BDA team member, you work directly with the Partnership to source new opportunities and maintain relationships with investors. This unique hands-on approach is rarely seen at the junior level in the banking industry and sets AGC apart. Furthermore, the BDA team plays a primary role, alongside the events team, organizing AGC's three annual conferences which are regularly attended by 500+ CEO's and investors, providing valuable networking and learning opportunities. AGC values hard work and rewards it accordingly, enabling you to advance quickly as you learn. As an analyst at AGC, you have the opportunity to take on increasingly challenging responsibilities as you gain a comprehensive understanding of technology and software companies. Additionally, the results of sourcing efforts from the BDA team are evident as you participate in deals from beginning to end. One of the key benefits of working at AGC are the resourceful colleagues you collaborate with. The team offers ongoing support and shows a genuine interest in your growth and development, and the weekly training sessions led by partners and senior bankers provide ample opportunities to enhance your skills. AGC attracts highly motivated and hard-working individuals, fostering strong relationships that will be valuable in your professional journey. Overall, AGC is an excellent place to be in the technology sector.

Cons

Long working hours can pose a challenge to maintaining a work-life balance, which is a common characteristic of the banking industry. However, at AGC, the fast-paced environment and opportunities for rapid learning more than make up for it.

Pros

In No Particular Order: - Great team culture. The Junior team is very close-knit. Senior management does a great job of promoting company events (drinks, trips, activities like ping pong or pickle ball, etc.) to bring the Junior team together and allow the team to have fun inside and out of the office. In the office and while working hard, the team is always collaborating and connecting on a personal level between tasks. Very fun and cordial environment. - Great exposure to Senior level team members. BDAs actively work with the Partnership and are able to learn substantially from them. The Partners do a great job of teaching the Junior team - this allows for the best quality work while the Junior members are constantly getting better. - Tremendous learning experience. BDAs will learn the nuances of software, sourcing, and research (and finance in general), leading them to be highly prepared for their next destination in their career. - Mentors: AGC does a great job of connecting Junior members to Senior colleagues who are more than willing to help them grow not only professionally but personally as well. - Recruiting: The BDA program is typically a two year learning experience. As BDAs near graduating the program, the Senior team (specifically the CEO and CFO) actively work with team members to find the best next opportunity on an individual basis. This includes connecting soon-to-be graduates with contacts at desired firms. You won’t find many companies where the CEO is taking time out of his day to send recommendation emails. - Rewarding Hard Work: When team members put in the effort and do well, they will receive praise and words of affirmation, along with increase of pay.

Cons

- Can be long hours, but that’s the nature of the industry. - Smaller team leads to heavier workload but greater opportunity to learn and make a meaningful contribution to the firm.
