AGC is a great place to kickstart your career, whether you are ultimately looking for a career in finance or not
Pros
AGC is a great place for anyone to kickstart their career, whether they are ultimately looking for a career in finance or not. As a member of the research and operations teams, I have been afforded the opportunity to gain insights into all different aspects of the business and hold a variety of different responsibilities, while working very closely with the CEO and gaining firsthand exposure to the M&A deal process. Being a part of a lean team lends itself to growth, and as a recent graduate, I have appreciated the opportunity to take on a multitude of tasks ranging from all spectrums of the business. AGC wants their employees to learn and grow during their time here and is committed to developing their employees into the most desirable candidates for future opportunities. They preach transparency across the board and make sure they are always maintaining a direct line of communication with their employees. Moreover, AGC promotes a fun, inclusive culture and places a major emphasis on team bonding, with weekly events for employees to spend time together and grow as teammates both in the workplace and outside of the workplace. The people at AGC care about one another and foster a sense of comradery that always puts the team first.
Cons
Being a part of a lean team has both its advantages and drawbacks. While assuming many roles and wearing many hats has its benefits, some of those roles are not the most glamorous ones and can seem rather mundane and administrative but are nonetheless necessary in order to keep the business going.
