Pros

The company has a great healthcare package with HSA funding. You do have the opportunity to travel with the company, either to farm shows, down to corporate in Duluth, GA or to dealer business meetings. Exposure to interesting products. Generally speaking, this is a 8:30-5 position. Some departments and managers are great to work with and for. There are a number of knowledgeable people about the industry. Great on-boarding process upon hiring. Opportunities to get promoted within the division or down to corporate. You can learn a lot in a short amount of time.

Cons

There is no sense of community within the division. Besides a summer company picnic, a holiday "party" (just mediocre catered food in the break room), and a weight loss challenge, there isn't really anything that encourages employees to interact with each other. Division is seen as a step-child to corporate and is treated as such. Business is completely dependent on the weather and sales forecasts are not adjusted for weather conditions; growth is measured monthly instead of looking at the long term (year long) growth. This leads to budget cuts during slow months to help meet numbers, but then excessive spending during good months. Employment seems to be a revolving door -- both with resignations and layoffs due to financials during bad months. VP position seems to be a temporary until promoted to a corporate position with 3 VP's in 4 years. The organization is also extremely out of touch with it's end users. A lot of money is spent on product development without actually talking to the end user to see how they feel and what they want.

Pros

It is a paying job

Cons

Management is overworked, overwhelmed, and have no listening skills whatsoever. No one knows the answers to simple questions. You will get turned around in circles for the simplest things. Insurance premiums are ridiculously high. Toxic especially to women and minorities. Way too understaffed. If you report a problem to HR you will be told it is all in your head. Their solution to fixing problems is just saying they don’t have any instead of actually working to change things.

Pros

Pay is ok, but make your best deal going in or good luck getting it later!

Cons

1) Highly matrixed organization with little cooperation from site managers and no support from senior management to get things done. 2) Benefits over the past several years have diminished significantly 3) Ivory tower management never leaves the tower and if you do see them they don't acknowledge the commoners 4) Martin runs the show with complete intolerance toward others 5) Shared services (HR, IT, Accounts payable/receivable, etc.) are all a joke 6) Management continues to cut budgets / people w/o realizing the loss of value in experience (just learning the company structure can take years) 7) I could go on, but it would just get uglier
