Chaotic environment. People get fired arbitrarily. Employees quitting weekly.

Pros

They let you have work from home days (though the rumor is that is going away). Most people there are friendly and hard workers. The lower management are a good group of people who treat their employees well.

Cons

Most people are afraid of upper management, maybe with the exception of the new CEO (4th CEO in a few years I believe). It's not unusual for them to pop into meetings to yell at someone or dress them down in front of the group. There's a suspicion that they are intentionally driving business down for some reason or another.

A perfect example of how a lack of a plan can negatively impact a company.

Pros

The expense budgets at AgData are very large. With the financial backing from Vista, access to capital is not a problem here. This gives AgData the ability to spend a lot on company events like the holiday party and other team building events. The salaries are slightly above average. You will get the autonomy to figure out what your job duties are.

Cons

The turnover rate at this company is ALARMINGLY high. It seems like everyone is around for about 8 months. Every quarter, there are massive restructuring moves including C level employees. This will make you have a different manager at least every 6 months. Neither Vista (the equity group that owns AgData) nor the management of AgData understand anything about the Ag industry. Not understanding the Ag industry is not necessarily a problem, but thinking you are an expert on the industry after a 30 minute conversation at a trade show is a huge problem. The largest problem with AgData is that they think they are Ag industry experts and have a unique, non replicable product. The reality is that AgData provides services that could easily be done in house by their large customers or completely copied by another service company.

AGDATA has been on a transformation journey so there have absolutely been changes within the organization, but we are positive these changes are moving the organization in the right direction. We pride ourselves on the client base we’ve established and the knowledge that our employees have within the industry. Pros

This thing says I need to fill in 20 words, I tried hard to find something that would take 20 words positive, but couldn't.

Cons

After Vista took over, this company has gone down hill, in the same manner as every other company Vista has taken over it seems. Management that things it just takes a re-org of the company to make things better (it's done the opposite). Getting rid of as many people as possible that knows the company and the clients, i.e. those with experience. Morale is at an all time low. Just the past 5 days 5 people have quit. 3 of them essential to serving one client. Benefits are horrible, especially medical benefits.

Hello – Thank you for your review. While we understand that benefits were not always great in the past, we significantly upgraded our benefits for 2018 which has been a great change. Ensuring each employee has a positive work experience with AGDATA and providing him/her with upward mobility is a main focus for us. Although, re-orgs within teams have occurred, we do feel it is in the betterment of the daily business operations and many employees have welcomed the changes as it has allowed them to take on different roles within the organization. The leadership teams wants to make sure we promote a positive work environment and we hope to continue to increase the morale. Again, thank you for your review, CEO
