Pros

International Presence. Financial Strength Brand Image Horizontal Job Opportunities Vertical Job Opportunities Retirement Benefits Are Excellent

Cons

Pay for Performance System Utilized The Past Two Years is essentially an episode of "Survivor" where managers in roundtable discussions who don't align themselves with other managers are at a distinct disadvantage.

Pros

AIG's front office got a pretty good life style, it's not too aggressive and you can have a pretty good work-life balance No fund raising pressures

Cons

The internal infrastructure is so 20 years behind, IT support and data management sometimes is a mess and it takes forever for them to deliver some very easy updates.

Pros

Good place to learn. The company is committed to modernization and there are some very interesting projects.

Cons

Not everywhere a happy ship. In my area it is very hierarchical and a state of constant flux. You must be able to manage chaos. Can be difficult to "own" anything due to competing matrix owners and micro-managers. Be careful in what you ask or suggest....
