Pros

Their bonuses were stellar the last 2 years, and on track to be great in '12. This is partly due to Wellpoint's performance as well as AIM's There are some decent leaders within the IT organization -- currently languishing as middle management.

Cons

The most toxic environment I've ever had the displeasure to work within. The entire IT staff is always in fight or flight mode to avoid recrimination from others outside their team. There are so many silos -- essentially each team is a silo. Apparently, "Yes men" are treated well, and incompetence, even at director level, is often overlooked. Wellpoint has too much control on daily and strategic operation and is slowly downsizing the total compensation plan for employees. Benefits slowly eroded under it's ownership.

Pros

Health insurance, pto, wfh (if you enjoy working from home)

Cons

There's a lot of cons- It's a call center- you're spoken down to, screamed at, talked over...almost every call. Metrics are not realistic. It's a very emotionally draining, disappointing job Everyone is told to be as vague as possible- we had a team meeting on how we're supposed to be as vague as possible to the caller...half the time RS's have to refer the caller to someone else and the other half of the time we're getting yelled at. I find this job to be the most unproductive job I've had. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone& would have stayed at my last company if I knew what the job actually was.
