Pros

There are a lot of opportunities at AIM within the technology group to both apply and learn skills around building enterprise level software products. They really have a mission to help people save money and get better care for procedures that really matter. They are building a real SOA environment that will help them scale.

Cons

With the growth, there are some growing pains, as to be expected. But, that can also be seen as a pro. There is some technical debt that needs to be addressed.

Pros

New leadership in IT has been able to re-focus the organization towards delivery. New leadership team understand they need to focus on delivery while at the same time enriching the lives of their employees. Small company atmosphere with big corporation benefits. A great opportunity to be a part of turn around and I mean that in the best way.

Cons

AIM could use a hair more rigor in IT around demand management and project management. Most if not all of the process rigor exists around release management. The past was filled with over bearing process which made it difficult to deliver and frustrated business partners. In removing those barriers the management team has shaken the company back in the right direction, but they need to bring just a little bit of those processes back. This makes project work stressful for staff as roles and responsibilities are not always clear.
