Pros

Most crew members are really nice and fun to work with and also helpful. My Management team was very cool and understanding as well. Each time I had to take off from work they supported me. AMC hires good people! 50% discount on concessions and free movies whenever! Flexible schedule.

Cons

The pay for the amount of work is not good. I worked at a smaller AMC and you would have to work you butt off during your entire shift only to make minimum wage. Cleaning the bathrooms and theaters is the worst part of the job. Especially the theaters, it can be difficult sometimes to get it done in a timely manner. The hours are terrible for a student who wants to go out on the weekends. Always working on holidays! AMC has a HIGH turnover rate, there are always people constantly leaving. Reasons being because of pay, stress, lack of hours, or customer service. I left because I grew tired of the late hours staying their till 1am and having to close concessions all by myself and doing hard work for such low pay. Being a crew member is the worst position, you have all the crappy work to do that the supervisors don't want to perform. Honestly this job is better for someone who is getting their first job in high school and does not have to work as much but just wanting some extra pocket change.

Pros

Unlimited Free movies Co-Workers are amazing Free popcorn and drinks

Cons

Everything else. Getting out 3-4 hours after scheduled shift end sometimes, sometimes getting out at 3am and having to get there in the morning at 8. Honestly, the job itself is awful. It is not worth being in charge of the entire concession stand or usher team when you only make minimum wage with no chance of getting a promotion or pay raise. I know people who have worked there 7 years and they get no pay raise. I myself was nominated by upper management as best film crew member in the district and did not even get a cent increase in pay. Not worth it.

Pros

- Great entry level job for a teenager - Free movies & discounts - Improves customer service and team building skills - Teaches you how to work quickly & efficiently under pressure - Opportunities to move up quickly I worked at AMC Entertainment for five years...it was my first job. I started working when I was 16 and left when I was 21. I spent 3 years as an entry level film crew and the next 2 as a Supervisor. I had a great time doing both when I was living at home with my parents support, it was a lot of fun going to the movies for free and I made a lot of professional relationships and friendships while there. I also learned how to deal with upset customers in a professional manner while keeping my cool. This is something that sticks with me even at my office job now.

Cons

- Very low pay, if you're looking to feed your family or a career then look elsewhere - Very long hours. They require you to be available anytime on weekends and at least 2 - 3 nights a week. - Gets very busy during peak hours. To the point where it's very chaotic. The movie theater business is dying. While I worked at AMC, Corporate was very concerned about the future because every year the numbers were looking worse and worse compared to the previous. Ticket & food prices go up by about $0.25 or $0.50 twice a year as well which isn't good. I'm happy I got out there.
