Pros

Decent co-workers Lots of "potential" to make money for a PT job as a college student Flexible scheduling - but does result in "how flexible are YOU to work for AMC" Lots of young people hired who want experience Can be promoted quickly - but i wouldn't recommend a career Free movies and discounts on the food (i still wouldn't eat it though)

Cons

Communication is minimal - which is the main cause of all problems Transient staff - Highest turnover you'll ever see - people will "quit" and come back, people who were fired even come back. Because so many people come and go - there's never an iron-fist of how to do things because nobody lasts more than 90 days Favoritism and Nepotism do occur. Dumb staff really are promoted due to likability. Relationships run wild, brothers, sisters, and friends are hired. People get special treatment because they went to High School together. The politics there are more corrupt than the government. Superior lack of professionalism - where swearing, degradation, and being just plain rude are the norm here Complicated rules that are easily broken by the people who make them up Unfair scheduling practices - you'll be forced to work during days you explicitly declared not-available (and some have walked out with less than they started) Young managerial staff has little discipline - they act like your RA in a dorm - seemingly friendly, but just really a moron- highly emotional - little experience - react very poorly to disasters they cause The building is broken - things break constantly - you'll know how to do your job 23 different ways because of everything that breaks-down -systems, electronics, the staff breaks down. There's always something you cannot do because it takes 6 weeks to recognize there's a problem and another 12 to get it fixed. Like I said "A M C - Always Missing Crap" Wages - Because most of the associates have tip-based income, the money can come as a matter of just pure luck. Some associates will walk out with 300$ in a 5 hour period - others walk with 5$ from a 10 hour. Also, no raises for salaried staff unless you were promoted. Bad guests are just the icing on the cake There's plenty more cons - but i just can't type that much - don't work there

Pros

depending on the theater it can be a really fun place to work. pretty easy to go from film crew to supervisor within 6months of employment. free movies and again depending on the location celebrities and red carpet events.

Cons

management can be a mess with multiple managers and supervisors telling to do contradictory things. Supervisor position is just a glorified film crew member. never a steady set of hours. one week you do overtime and the next week they cut your hours to keep your total hours under 32. breaks and lunch breaks and get shifted around so often you never get a chance to take and then its your fault.
