Benefits package is lacking

Pros

The work schedule is generally 7 on 7 off, which is standard for hospitalists. 5 paid days of CME and 5 PTO days make the contract stand out.

Cons

No paid time off for maternity leave. Working for a Christian organization, many of the missions/tenets are dated and inconsistent with many of the employees' values.

Pros

A few nice coworkers that made the experience slightly bearable.

Cons

From the interview to my last day, it was a disaster. I applied for the job online and HR scheduled an interview for me without asking for my availability. Strange, but I let it slide. Was then offered the position for full time. Started the job and never had a full caseload. Emailed HR asking about various benefits and policies and would get responses such as “look online” without a link or “that’s not my department” and no follow up on who/where to refer to. Overall very incompetent and hostile managers, poor business acumen, forced low census days (took 16 hours of PTO in my 9th week working), ill-equipped HR staff, and unfriendly work atmosphere: management and associates encouraging gossip, bad mouthing, shifting blame to upper management, creating notion that upper management is not on your side (I.e The suits are coming! Make sure everything is ___”). It’s shocking to see such a large company operate so poorly.
