Pros

Could remotely lead to a career in Law Enforcement

Cons

As a Hospital Security Officer , you will be punched with closed fists, have urine or feces thrown at you ,slapped, kicked, spat at and or scratched by violent psychologically or substance impaired patients , who may or may not be infected AIDS , HIV , TB , Cdif , Mersa of HEP A, B or C and a whole spectrum of infectious or deadly diseases. You will stand or sit watches with from to two to six of these patients in the ER or E-kids at a time (Extremely risky). You will do morgue duty with persons who may have died from any or a combination of the above. You will walk miles and sit for extended periods of time . Expect to get thrown under the bus if a patient or visitor complains , or a employee complains. You will be called usually only after someone else escalates a situation out out control and expected to deescalate what they caused.

Pros

New joint organization is really trying hard to be support the overall organization mission, vision, and values. The leadership values their mission in healthcare and all genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of the people within the community they are within.

Cons

1. Leadership is dated, many of them need to be more open to new ideas and working together instead of just everyone for themselves, and CYA-ing defensively all the time 2. Parent organization needs to be more supportive, open and collaborative with AMITA as their new venture 3. Education needs to be at the forefront of this ever changing healthcare industry 4. Rewards and recognition is minimal

Pros

Great coworkers, Flexible schedule, paid Holidays.

Cons

No one know what is going on with the merge, location, etc. They pay less than anyone around and act like working from home is this luxurious benefit that we will someday get to earn.
