Pros

Lots of company gigs including giving back to those in need. Platform and domain are helpful.

Cons

Benefits are terrible and are way over priced. Hard work doesnt get you anywhere. Being a badass employee only gets you somewhere if your part of the inside click. Going above and beyond doesnt matter. They dont believe in anyone under management. Theyre quick to charge a resident or violate them to impress corporate, yet maintenance feels the direct affect. Community managers can literally have no maintenance background yet make vital decisions in regards to matters as such. AMLiMART is a disaster and waste of vital time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I am sorry that were not happy working at AMLI. We have shared your review with the Austin leadership team. Our focus on culture and recognition of employees, especially at the on-site, associate level is one of our priorities. We have a significant number of employees who have been promoted, at least once in their career, often 2 or 3 times, based on their contributions to the success of the organization. We have Service Managers at each property who partner with our Community Managers, as well as our Directors of Building Operations to help to make all critical maintenance decisions. Employees are encouraged and rewarded for making suggestions to improve how we run our operations and service our residents. While I don’t know if during your employment you reached out to your Regional Manager, Regional President and/or HR to discuss your issues and to provide suggestions, you are still welcome to contact us to share more details. Best wishes for your success in your new role.

Pros

Branding: Because of the company's image, a lot of traffic is generated based solely on the AMLI name. People: AMLI hires some great people from assistant community managers and below. Policy: AMLI has a policy for just about everything! It is a wonderful resource to find answers to most questions that you have. Product: Most of the AMLI communities have an awesome product. The properties that they build are always top-notch, and most of the properties that they acquire are decent.

Cons

Branding: Because of the company's promise to provide exceptional service, there tends to be an unrealistic expectation once prospects become residents. The bulk of the work is with the on-site team, and depending on how strong/seasoned the office team is, it tends to create tons of work for the knowledgeable employees. People: Community managers and higher are untouchable. Most workers below that title have unparalleled talent, but depending on the community manager, your full potential may not ever be reached. A lot of current employees are unhappy in their roles and there is not a real "open door" or "safe" way to report issues that are occurring on-site without being branded a problem employee. Facade: Don't believe everything that you hear. The AMLI FAMLI facade is typically for social events, but the real AMLI FAMLI tends to form with members of your own team, and typically the high-achievers. Growth: If the development team likes you, then you are good to go! Advancing in this company tends to be very political, and typically isn't based on merit. Not every new job opening is posted, and versus granting opportunities to current employees, they will typically hire new talent for the most desired positions. Business: If the community is generating the money that it's supposed to, then the "how" does not matter. Community managers receive most of the praise when things go well.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I am sorry to read that you do not think that AMLI has an open door environment. The HR department and our management teams work with employees at all levels to develop career opportunities and to help them be successful in their roles, as well as address concerns when they arise. I encourage you to reach out to HR, your RM and/or your President for further discussion and assistance. Most of our job opportunities are filled by internal candidates and our rate of internal promotions is quite high. We have a variety of recognition events, communications and incentives geared to reward the office and maintenance teams. There is no doubt that high achievers are rewarded at AMLI, as they are at any successful company. I have shared your comments and suggestions with the Atlanta leadership team. Please know we appreciate your contributions to AMLI and want you to feel valued. Regards, Leslie Silverman

Pros

Everything as long as you are one of the popular employees.

Cons

Political from the CEO down. Backstabbing and they will smile to your face while bad mouth you from behind. In a management position I see HR and senior management do this as well.
