Pros

They just increased wages...sort of

Cons

Favoritism. If you are not among the inside circle, you are treated poorly. Toxic environment in Colorado Springs where bullying occurs and if you try to speak up, they sweep it under the rug. I was subjected to a hostile working environment for the better part of a year where my partner was not only verbally abusive and emotionally abusive towards me and telling people that he wished my suicide attempt had worked...but he treated patients that way and even slammed the head of a patient into a cot. He was hellbent on trying to get me fired and he exhausted every last resource so that he could. Supervisors would often witness the events that occurred and would not do anything to stop it other than telling him to knock it off. But because they used to pay wages that were less than what a McDonald's employee makes, they were desperate to keep paramedics. If I am accepted to paramedic school, I will be electing to ride with AMR in a different city. Mental health wasn't ruined by what I had seen, but how the people there treated me. Literally every friend I had there wound up hating me.
