A Special Company With A Culture Like No Other!

Pros

The culture at AMain is what sets it apart from other places I've worked. How many people can say they work for a company that celebrates apple, popcorn, waffle and punk rock days? Yes, they are in fact "holidays" and we enjoy them each year. More importantly than that, the owners and current management staff truly put employees first, which has had the single biggest impact on the company's culture. Giving employees the benefit of the doubt, having an open door policy for communication--truly listening to employees--and by setting an example with passion and selflessness are just a few ways they lead. Imagine the owner of a company with more than 100 employees answering every single email you've ever sent him--without words that tells me I'm valued and my ideas are heard, some of which have been implemented. I could go on about our "Your Earned It" program that gives employees an opportunity to send points/cash to other employees as recognition for a job well done. We receive huge discounts on RC and cycling products, which are two hobbies most of us love. Paid time off is also a huge perk when working at AMain. It has one of the more liberal policies you'll find with 18 paid days off (full time) in your first year--this makes it much easier juggling your career and family. I consider many of my peers friends, not fellow employees. It's a special company and I don't envision it changing much when you consider those that are in a place of leadership.

Cons

This does not necessarily apply to me, but in years past I think it was difficult for some to navigate the "corporate ladder." There weren't as many opportunities for personal growth and advancement as there are now. Again, the company listens and this is something AMain has put a concerted effort towards. We now employ more leads, supervisors and managers than ever before.

Pros

Lots of opportunity to advance (I have been promoted twice in 5 years). I started at about $10/hr - 5 years ago - and now I am on salary making close to triple my starting pay.

Cons

You will be expected to work hard and be accountable for the work you produce - I think this is a good thing but some would disagree.
