Heed the warnings - It is a miserable work place.

Pros

Interesting technology, good product quality, solid engineering

Cons

The cons of working at APCON begin and end with management, specifically the CEO. The CEO is the owner & founder of APCON. He has absolute control. There are no other counter balances to offset the whims of the CEO. As the saying goes, "absolute power corrupts absolute". And the CEO is truly corrupt in the sense of his management style, the culture he has created, and the way he treats all of his employees. I truly believe it is not possible to implement any type of real culture change at APCON until the CEO is no longer involved. He simply will not allow any change and is blind to his biggest weakness which is that he is a terrible leader. I asked myself many times over the years that how can someone be so smart but yet be so ignorant. If he had any self-awareness, APCON would be more than twice as big as twice as profitable. That's the irony in this sad story that he is THE reason for APCON's shortcomings and NOT the fault of his employees who he has blamed non-stop from the day I started.

Pros

The people, from engineering and sales to HR, the people are all doing their best and they are great to work with. The directors and managers in place try to improve their departments and to keep the company going. There are some great and intelligent people working there, it's unfortunate they're overshadowed.

Cons

Where to start?? The "President/CEO" does not believe in rewarding employees or increasing morale. He has those in his inner circle he "trusts" but he treats them so poorly as well, why they continue going back for more is outside my comprehension. He does not believe in relying on his directors and managers to help run the business. In my tenure there was a lot of turnover and it's getting worse. The benefits and PTO leave a lot to be desired. They hide behind being a "smaller" company but I have seen better benefits and PTO options at companies half their size.

Pros

Great place to play pacman all day and simply collect a paycheck. Don't expect to do any real work, just a lot of head nodding and "yes sir", then back to pacman.

Cons

The only decisions you are allowed to make at this company is what you can have for lunch. Be prepared
