Trying to find a way out of here!

Pros

It’s close to home. Easy commute. The people I work with are amazing. Hour lunch time. Ping pong table. Gym.

Cons

Where to start... the CEO is hard to deal with. Does not understand how to talk to his employees. Harsh with words and does not communicate well. I urge you to read the reviews on this company. They are accurate. Turn over rate is high. Lots of interviews but noncommittal I wonder if they have read the reviews?? Probably so! Just don’t do it to yourself. There are better options out there. Unless you are in dire need of a job keep searching. Something great will open up for you. If you do work here, keep your mouth shut, head down, and lips puckered. You will do great.

Pros

Good, intelligent, hardworking people. The statement does not extend to the CEO.

Cons

The negative reviews are accurate. The environment is toxic and employees never feel appreciated. It's pretty much whatever the king wants. The negativity starts and ends with the CEO. His management style is manic and random. It's the hot button of the week or whatever bee is in his bonnet. Employees aren't treated with respect and quite honestly, he doesn't have a clue. Unless you are desperate for a job, there is some place better out there.

APCON Response

We appreciate feedback on how the company is performing and the work environment. APCON‘s enthusiastic, passionate, dedicated and talented employees are contributing to the growth of the company. The first quarter was a great start to 2016 and the team's hard work was acknowledged with a bonus. There are a number of channels to raise concerns or issues, including the HR department and the open door policy fostered by senior managers. Thank you for your time to post a review.

Pros

The technology is interesting and performs a valuable service for the customers. The customer list is impressive, and includes many of the largest firms in the world. Revenues are growing.

Cons

The owner and CEO has precious little idea how to grow a company successfully. He has never worked in or grown a company of size. As a consequence, he micromanages everything, and often badly. Employees are treated as completely interchangeable and replaceable. They are viewed as an expense that must be minimized. There is virtually no opportunity for advancement; once you are hired, you're pretty much put into a box which is impossible to escape. Knowledge you bring and share about products and services, corporate development, process development and corporate quality will be considered irrelevant and obstructionist. The internal process for defining products revolve around satisfying the CEO's latest whim without regard to good user interface principles, good product design, quality of the released products, or the appropriate means for delivering the products. There is no cross-functional program management. There are no executive staff meetings -- the CEO will tell you what he wants you to know about what is going on in other departments. Although these statements could apply to many companies, APCON elevates them to an art form.
