      Pros

      ASICS has humble origins: an ordinary Japanese man sought to promote sports among the youth in war-torn Japan. To this day, it remains committed to that noble cause. Unfortunately, millennials are more concerned about drinking the Yeezy Kool Aid, so business is not great.

      Cons

      All products, decisions, and processes can be characterized as "too little, too late". This has largely to do with the inefficient bureaucracy that is centrally controlled by the parent company in Kobe, Japan. ASICS America will always trail several seasons behind its leading competitors.

      Pros

      Managers get very little guidance or training. This is either a plus or a minus. Generally direction is inconsistent, the hiring process is very challenging, and dealing with corporate can be trying. Pay is good, and if you want to be left alone with no input or direction, and you are crazy passionate about running, this is the place for you. The running culture is a huge part of working there and is talked about constantly. Company is growing fast, triple the number of stores from a year ago.

      Cons

      No consistency from corporate whatsoever. Things change frequently with little to no direction. Communication is abysmal. POS/ IT system is straight our of the 1990's. Managers are not given great tools to work with. The company is new to running a retail business and it really shows. Allocations are very inconsistent at best. You will be asked for your feedback as to what you need to make money, then be given excuses about why it's not possible. Can't make up their mind if it's an outlet business or not.
