      Upper management doesn’t want to solve problems but abuse engineers. Never show basic respect. Stay away, otherwise you will be such rude person in life.

      Vacation is not what you expect

      Nothing positive to say about ASM's vacation policy.

      Cons

      As a new employee, ASM gave me what I thought was a generous 2 weeks of vacation with an additional 1 week of flex time. Little did I know the company has mandatory plant closings 14 days out of the year. Either you use your vacation and flex time during these times, or you are not paid. This leaves me 1 whole day to use when I want. Ridiculous. On top of that, I have heard from others that you can plan vacation months in advance, only for the company to reject your time off, stating priority business needs.

      Good Company, bad management, a lot of incompetent people

      - Some very smart technical people work at ASM - Great technology in epi and ALD

      Cons

      - Management style is old and most of middle managers are very incompetent - If you are not Asian, you are NOT very welcome to join process team. - Very political environment - No transparency, everybody hides his work like they are working on a billion dollar technology! - Office spaces are old and in really bad shape - There is very limited learning opportunity - Micromanagement
