Pros

AT&T is a good company for training and a foundation of a corporate culture, but definitely not a long term destination. The benefits and pay are "OK", but for the amount of BS, micro-managing, and corporate bureaucracy you deal with, it's not worth it. Great training and a lot of quality people, but as soon as people reach success they leave for higher paying offers

Cons

Always increasing targets while cutting commissions, constant demotivating tactics by management, constant re-org, so much admin and push back to get anything done.

Pros

Good pay for those without a college degree. This is a hugely important detail. If you've got your bachelor's then look elsewhere. Fresh out of high school and willing to withstand abuses from management for around $15/hour, then have at it. All the overtime you can stand, mandatory. I was on 12 hour days without choice for 8 months. Forget family and friends.

Cons

Relentlessly inadequate numbers game that is so out of touch with what technician's actually do that even managers are forced to cook the books to make ends meet. Four (4) of my direct superiors were let go for modifying statistics in hopes of keeping their job. Prem techs are treated without even a modicum of respect. Just look at the turn-around and you'll see for yourself. Two out of the twelve that hired in with me remained after only eight months on the job. I could go on, but google "prem tech" and you'll start to see a quick trend online toward exposing the asinine and borderline abusive business practices of this once great telecom company.

Pros

Union gives you tons of support and pay is good. You have to stay in top of how you are payed because they constantly change the percentages and what gets paid out.

Cons

Managers think their Demi gods and too much bs politics. If they spent more time actually understanding that they should motivate instead of trying to intimidate things would run much smoother.
