Pros

I was pleasantly surprised by the emphasis on integrity and positivity. This was a restart of my career and as an older employee, I love the culture, benefits and focus on taking care of our customers, both external and internal. It's been 5 years and I have NO regrets for joining AT&T!!

Cons

Some days are long and things change rapidly so you have to learn to adapt on the fly...

Pros

* AT&T tends to favor hiring and promoting internally and with its large diversity of job titles and roles available, it's a great way to stay within a single company but learn new skills and progress one's career. * Solid PTO (up to 28 days a year), holiday (9 days a year), caregiver leave (2 weeks a year), and paid parental leave (12 weeks a year) policies for management employees. * Great tuition reimbursement program for both undergrad and graduate level studies plus professional development with nano-degrees and course certificates. * The company strongly values diversity and inclusion. Every employee truly gets an equal opportunity. * The company has made significant progress the past two years in paying down debt and improving its balance sheet under its new CEO. The downside to that is an increase in layoffs in less profitable departments being phased out or sold.

Cons

* Slightly less pay to comparable job titles in other companies but not significantly lagging. Unfortunately, average budgeted compensation increases are lagging behind inflation so the problem is widening. * The quality of some first-level management employees in customer-facing departments has deteriorated over the past few years likely due to the first point. This could mean one's experience with the company becomes tainted by a poor leader as his or her supervisor. * As with many large corporations, it is constantly changing and restructuring leading to layoffs of certain departments and groups that are under-performing against the company's projections/goals. One should always be looking at the big picture and attempting to position himself or herself in a department that is rapidly growing to maximize job security.
