Pros

Front of House is a fun environment - usually attracts outgoing and sociable people. Majority hard working and personable. Perk of watching theatre obviously good too!

Cons

Hard work, unsociable long/late hours, pay not really reflective of workload. Although some progression opportunities within Front of House management there is definitely a ceiling within wider theatre/venue management options.

Pros

Meeting great colleagues that have a similar passion to theatre. Also meeting the actors can be quite fun. My managers were great but heard managers from other departments were not as good or fair. The managers really helped me by putting me on the rota around my studies even though I had a 20 hour p/week contract in the final year of my employment

Cons

Some patrons looking down on you like dirt isn't fun Too much use of zero hour contracts. Needs far more investment into their IT system. Also, Audience View is simply awful. So many crashes that did not happen as often with Enta. The rota system for employees on zero hour contracts are very old school. Build a system where zero hour employees can see the rota online and select shifts themselves. It takes away the favouritism from certain managers which pits one employee against the other. Also saves time as managers will no longer need to phone/text each employee so that they can fill a shift.
