Pros

You get to work from home, but they like to micromanage every moment of your time including programs installed on your computer that monitor everything you do and record all your calls and how much time you spend away from the computer

Cons

Working as a Loan Specialist at AutoPay was one of the most stressful and demoralizing experiences of my career. The company claims to value its employees, but in reality, it’s a toxic environment with no support or appreciation for the hard work we do. First, the workload is completely unreasonable. Management expects you to handle an overwhelming number of loans with no regard for accuracy or quality. It’s all about hitting unrealistic targets, even if it means cutting corners or rushing through important details. Second, the training is practically nonexistent. I was thrown into the role with minimal guidance and expected to figure everything out on my own. When I asked for help, I was either ignored or met with frustration from my supervisors. Finally, the culture is toxic. There’s no teamwork or collaboration—just constant pressure and micromanagement. The turnover rate is sky-high, and it’s no surprise why. The company doesn’t care about its employees, and it shows in how they treat us. If you’re considering a job at AutoPay, I’d strongly advise against it. The pay isn’t worth the stress, and the lack of support will leave you feeling burned out and undervalued.

Pros

I worked 6 months with Autopay, I wish it would have had a better outcome to continue with them, my Coach was the best thing that happened for me there and also was the reason I stayed longer. She was a former loan specialist and knew what us loan specialists were up against with the Underwriting department causing delay in contracts, picking apart cust signatures and discouraging customers to back out of the new loan, this causes you money loss, and they still get their hourly wage. I lost over 12 deals with the process in place, my coach is overworked and yet still strived to be the best leader she could. I have over 20 years in auto sales and dealership management, and I havent lost 12 deals in my 20 year career to negligence of the company staff. I miss my team, I miss my coach, I loved the actual job, I just disliked greatly how it costed me money to work or have my bonus taken away because the lenders don't allow back end for that state's customer.

Combine the retaliatory mindset of the Underwriting department along with losing deals you spent a lot of time on and gathering info, it ends up calculating to a minimum wage job, if they would stop allowing the underwriting department to dictate what a bank will and will not accept, more loans would have funded in the last 6 months I worked there and more. If I have lost 12 deals, you can imagine how much the company has lost with the Underwriting department dictating what deals are ok and not ok, what signature DMV will take and not take needs to be up to the bank not a non lender rep

Pros

Free lunches and nice view of the mountains.

Cons

The company overall is subpar. The loan specialist position is a desperation job. It only pays minimum wage with commission, depending on the amount of deals a Loan Specialist (LS) is able to close. It is a typical sales position that says the pay is uncapped, which is a lie. It is only uncapped if you magically get great leads at all times. It is eerily quiet on the LS floor. Everything is set up to be virtual. There is no reason to even be on-site but the company demands that all employees work in the office. There is no hybrid or remote work available unless under specific circumstances. The company purposefully doesn’t buy work equipment to force everyone into the office. Training was rushed into a two week period of time. Then you move onto a Boot Camp where coaches are to ramp up the LS team even more. The coaches and supervisors will be 5 feet away from an individual and will not get up to answer questions or show a person how to do something unless compelled too. Instead they will contact a person on Microsoft Teams. The HR department are the police of the company. HR is incompetent at best and useless to employees at the worst. They will find any little thing to write people up and to create a fear based environment. There is a juvenile point system that is used to hold people accountable. HR is so focused on being in control that they will not see anyone’s humanity and commit to unethical business practices. Forget about work life balance, there is none, employees will be asked to work on Saturdays and not be paid for overtime work, just the standard pay and commission. There is not much opportunity for advancement at this company. It’s really just department hopping. Run from this position if you have any dignity.
